I was born and raised in the south of France in a small village for ten years of my life. One day, my parents booked a trip to Costa-Rica. Costa-Rica, which translates to “the rich coast” or “the delicious coast”, inherited its name well. It was so rich and delicious that my mom refused to go back to France and sent my dad back to pack; that is how I was infected with the travel bug. Of course, being stripped away from your friends at 10 years old and being put in school in a foreign country, where you do not speak the language, is somewhat a traumatizing experience, but you know what Friedrich Nietzsche said…”That which does not kill us, makes us stronger.” And sometimes it can even make you crave more uncomfortable situations like the one your parents put you in as a child. That’s why I travel. I love the feeling of being out of my comfort zone because it makes me grow as a person and makes life so much more rich and beautiful.
